Okay... Yeah I know, the Hawks are the first playoff team to come in with less wins than losses. And yes, in their nine losses the average margin of victory was 21 points. Yeah, yeah, yeah...
So I figure this will never happen, but I'm going to float it anyway (step by step)...
#1. The Seattle Seahawks host the New Orleans Saints (the reigning World Champion) at the home of the 12th man tomorrow at 4:30 EST... The Hawks don't have a chance, right? They come out smelling like roses and squeak out the win...
#2. Sunday afternoon at 4:30 EST the Green Bay Packers play the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly and pull off a road victory (entirely possible given the Eagles' health concerns and the strength of the Packers defense)...
#3. This scenario puts Seattle in Chicago to face Da Bears while Green Bay moves down the east coast to square off against the top team in the NFL this season, the Atlanta Falcons...
#4. Now, don't forget, last October Seattle traveled to Soldier Field and got after poor Jay Cutler for 6 sacks and pulled off a 23-20 road victory. The confidence that win means to the Hawks puts them over the top in another squeaker win only this time its for the right to play for the NFC Championship...
#5. Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers matches the Falcons' Matty Ice score for score and ends up in the lead when the game ends...
#6. This sets up the NFC title game in the home of the 12th man once again (Division winner trumps better record by wild card team in determining home field advantage)...
#7. Once this stage has been realized the Seahawks' confidence is soaring...
Anything can happen!
